ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) - The St. Louis Zoo is working with Washington University students to study options for charging admission fees.
The study comes after a survey that named St. Louis Zoo to be the number one free attraction in the nation.
Researchers say they plan to look at several fee structures from September - December and their potential impact on attendance.
According to researchers, the zoo does not have the power to charge admission on its own. The charge would require a change in state law, which currently mandates the zoo to be open to the public free of charge.
