25 years later: Looking for answers in Arnold cold case killing

ARNOLD, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- On April 23, 1993, Steve Weltig was brutally murdered while working inside his Arnold liquor store. Nobody has ever been prosecuted for the crime.

A quarter century later his family is pleading with the public for answers.

His mother is now 85 years old and wants closure. A year ago, Weltig’s father passed away without ever receiving answers about who killed his son. Weltig’s sister believes the killer is still out there, and believes the case can be solved.

News 4 is taking a fresh look at the case, and talking with those who knew Weltig best. His family hopes the story will be shared, because they believe it will only take one person to come forward with the answers they need.

Chris Nagus' I-Team report airs Wednesday night, on News 4 at 10:00.
