ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- Police are investigating a carjacking and robbery in St. Louis, just east of Forest Park.
The incident took place near the 4900 block of West Pine Avenue.
Just before 1:00 p.m., a 21 year-old man was walking north on Euclid Avenue from West Pine. The man said he heard a woman screaming for help and observed a female victim running north on Euclid. She was being chased by two suspects, both male.
One of the suspects stopped his pursuit of the female victim and approached the male victim. The suspect demanded the victim's possessions and the victim complied, handing over cash and a cell phone.
The female victim was knocked to the ground after the second suspect struck her in the face.
The two suspects left the scene on foot and ran south on Euclid Avenue. The St. Louis Metro Police Department said the two suspects possibly entered a dark-colored Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban.
Police said an investigation revealed the female victim was approached by the two suspects as she exited her vehicle at the intersection of West Pine Boulevard and Euclid Avenue. They chased the victim to Euclid and Lindell Boulevard until she was struck by the second suspect, who took her keys and stole her vehicle.
Both victims refused medical attention, police said.
An investigation into the robbery is ongoing.
