CREVE COEUR, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- A carjacking took place at the Jewish Community Center in Creve Coeur Saturday morning, according to St. Louis County police.

Police responded to the first block of Millstone Campus Drive for a robbery call. They said a suspect approached a 57-year-old woman with a gun and demanded her vehicle. He took her dark blue 2017 Porsche Cayenne and drove off.

The woman was not injured.

A spokesperson of the Jewish Community Center responded to the incident saying they were "extremely grateful she was safe". They do not believe the carjacker was motivated by anti-Semitism because it was an isolated incident.

Police described the suspect as a black man with a mustache.

The Porsche has Missouri license plate number AK4A4G.

The investigation is being led by the St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons.

The full statement from the Jewish Community Center can be read here:

This morning at 6:20am, a woman's car was taken by an armed individual from the parking lot of the Jewish Community Center in Creve Coeur.

We are extremely grateful that she is safe.

Because this incident occurred long before our building opened, we believe this is an isolated incident and have no reason to believe the crime was motivated by anti-Semitism.
