BENTON PARK, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- A woman was carjacked at gunpoint late Thursday night in Benton Park. 

The incident took place in the 3200 block of S. Jefferson Avenue shortly before 8:30 p.m.

According to police, a 36-year-old woman parked her 2016 Ford Fusion and was walking to her house when the suspect approached her. He showed a gun and demanded the keys from her, police said.

The victim cooperated, then the suspect drove off in her vehicle.

Police said the victim was uninjured. 

The investigation is ongoing.
