ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOV.com) – A vigil was held Tuesday night for an activist who was found dead inside a burned car.
Darren Seals, 29, was found dead inside a burned vehicle in Riverview overnight.
According to the St. Louis County Police Department, the Crimes Against Persons Unit along with the Bomb and Arson Unit were called to the 9600 block of Diamond to assist the City of Riverview with a vehicle fire around 1:50 a.m. on September 6.
After the fire was put out, authorities found Seals, who had suffered a gunshot wound, police said.
Seals was a vocal activist during the unrest in Ferguson.
The investigation is ongoing.
