ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV) – A man who was rolling on video when shots rang out at the The Ambassador after a concert spoke to News 4.
John Trevillion, 34, was killed and two others were injured after shots were fired following the Gucci Mane concert.
Police said the shooting occurred around 1 a.m. Sunday in the 9800 block of Halls Ferry.
Treveyon Throp said he was there when it all happened.
“There was [sic] shots. Everybody started running,” said Throp.
It’s an image forever etched in his mind. He didn't expect he would have to dodge bullets while leaving the Gucci Mane concert at the Ambassador.
“It was a nice concert. Weren't [sic] nobody fighting in there. Ain't nobody get put out. It was an excellent concert. I love the concert,” said Throp.
St. Louis County police said a gunman fired several shots into a crowd of several hundred, hitting three victims.
One of the victims, a 34-year-old man, was transported to the hospital in critical condition, but died during surgery. Detectives said they believe the victim was the primary target of the unknown suspect.
Two others, a 31-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries.
“It was not too far from my car so I could've been anybody. Could've been our car shot up,” said Throp.
Luckily that wasn't the case. Hours later he went back to the Ambassador to celebrate a family member's birthday.
“I can't blame them. This is their establishment. They can't control every single person that comes in here,” said Throp.
Airriod Bright, who shot the video, says he wants the violence to stop.
"I'm hurt that we have to go do this on a daily basis. it was a fun event, but at the end of the night we ended with people getting shot," said Bright.
Despite the large crowds, police tell said no witnesses have come forward. They're asking anyone with information about the shooter to contact them.
