Storms developing throughout the St. Louis Metropolitan area and Metro East are causing some damage for residents, Saturday afternoon.
Storms with unusual motion continue to produce gusty winds, hail and heavy rain.
News 4 spoke with a man who was on the phone with his mother when a tree came crash down on a house in the 7050 block of Rhodes Rd. in Affton.
The man says he was not injured.
Mobile homes in Pontoon Beach, Ill. were also damaged due to strong winds and storms.
News 4 Viewer Jessica tells us a tree hit a mobile home located in Holiday Mobile Home Park near Horseshoe Lake and I-255.
She says a neighbor told her the tree was struck by lightning, causing the damage.
News 4 was also at the scene of a house fire in Columbia, Illinois. News 4 learned the house caught on fire after lightning struck a pole and tree, where the fire ran up wires and hit the home.
The home is located near South Rapp Avenue and W. Jefferson Street in Columbia, Ill.
A lot of Columbia residents are without power at this time, according to officials.
No one was injured in this fire.
St. Gabriel's Church Picnic tents were also destroyed by the storms early Saturday in Francis Park.
