Officials: Boy, 13, dead after jumping from boat at Lake of the Ozarks

A 53-year-old farm worker has died after a hose on a disc plow struck him causing a fatal head injury in New Athens, Ill. Monday afternoon.

St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a possible anhydrous accident or explosion in the 2900 block of Klein School Rd. in New Athens, Ill.

Upon arrival, a Burt Kreher was found working on farm equipment in the field, a disc plow attached to an anhydrous pull behind tank.

A high pressure hose failed on the disc plow and knocked the man back and he suffered a head injury in the fall.

There was no explosion or anhydrous leak because of this, according to police.

The man transported by ARCH helicopter to a local hospital for treatment.

The Sheriff’s Department is treating this as an accidental death and there is no indication of any foul play intentional harm to the victim.
