ONE DAY ONLY: Shake Shack pop-up coming to Washington Ave Saturday

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Burger lovers, rejoice.

On his personal Twitter account, Shake Shack founder and St. Louis native Danny Meyer announced that Shake Shack would be coming to the gateway city.

According to St. Louis magazine

, the new restaurant will open in 2017 in the Central West End at the corner of West Pine Boulevard and Euclid Avenue. The Shake Shack will be on the ground floor of a five-story, multi-use building.

Shake Shack was established in 2004 and has 66 locations around the country, coming a long way from operating inside a hot dog cart in Manhattan. The Shack offers menu items such as burgers, chicken sandwiches, frozen custard, and alcoholic beverages such as beer and wine.
