2 robberies occur only blocks apart within short time span in south St. Louis

SOUTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Police say they are investigating two robberies that happened only blocks apart and in about a 40-minute time span.

The first incident was a home invasion around 8 p.m. on February 2 on Chippewa Street near Minnesota Avenue. Police say a 16-year-old answered the door and was pushed aside by two armed men. The suspects got away with cash, a cellphone, and a game system.

According to officials, just minutes later, a woman sitting inside her car on Michigan Avenue near Marquette Park says three men opened her car door and pointed a gun at her. The woman got out and the suspects took off in the car.

Police say it is unclear if these crimes are connected.
