(KFOR/CNN/Meredith) -- A dog rescuer in Oklahoma City is trying to help a puppy who appears to have three ears and other medical issues.

The puppy, named Trip, was taken to Mutt Misfits rescue group after he was born.

Heather Hernandez with Mutt Misfits said out of a litter of seemingly normal puppies, Trip was born with what appears to be a third ear. Hernandez said the ear appears to be connected to something deeper than just a skin tag, but Trip will need a CT scan to find out for sure.

Hernandez is now working to raise money for that CT scan so they can get some more answers. Besides the apparent third ear, Trip also has seizures and walks off-balance.

Trip is heading back to the vet soon. There, Hernandez hopes to learn more about how to help him.
