ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- News 4 is learning more about the driver behind the wheel in a deadly crash that resulted in the death of Jan Torissi Mokwa, a St. Louis businesswoman and wife of former St. Louis Police Chief Joe Mokwa.
The accident happened in July, but so far, there have been no charges.
Friday News 4 learned the driver that caused the crash is facing potential legal trouble.
The 22-year-old woman behind the wheel was issued two summons. According to St. Louis Police, she was driving without a license, and also driving without insurance.
The case is under review at the Circuit Attorney's Office.
St. Louis businesswoman Jan Torrisi-Mokwa, the wife of former police chief Joe Mokwa, was killed Monday when the car she was driving was struck by a one-ton piece of falling concrete.
What caused the driver to lose control, then slam into the concrete wall, toppling part of it on to traffic below remains unknown.
Police consider the accident an active investigation.
News 4 has requested the incident report from the day of the crash, but so far police have denied giving us that report.
Without knowing the name of the driver, it's impossible to know about their previous driving record.
