Police in St. Charles County say there are have been several incidents of someone throwing frozen water bottles at passing cars.
Police said there have been at least four such incidents since late June. Two occurred near the intersection of Route DD and Route D.
One victim was Stephen Millberg. He said he was heading to a friend’s house in one day in early July when a frozen water bottle was thrown at him from a passing car.
“I put up my arm to shield whatever was coming at me,” said Millberg. “It gashed my arm up and my side mirror just exploded into pieces.”
Last week, police said another water bottle was thrown at a pick-up truck. The driver said he had to make sure he didn’t go off the road after he was hit.
Because roads in parts of St. Charles County are narrow, hilly, winding and have drop-offs, there is a concern that a driver could end up in a rollover accident.
Police say they do not have a suspect description or a description of the suspect’s vehicle. Victims said the vehicle might be a silver car with tinted windows and they believe more than one car may be involved.
If you have any information on any of the incidents, call police.
