The Parkway School District is teaming with local business leaders to help high school students gain real world knowledge.
The effort is known as the Spark Program, an authentic off-site workspace inside a store in Chesterfield Mall. High school students from all over the district can engage with entrepreneurs and try to create a successful business.
One student has an idea that can help people with medical conditions get up in bed. Liza Tarakanova’s idea is for a motorized mattress overlay.
She said she got the idea after wanting to help her mentor, whose son has to be proposed up in bed 3-4 times a night because he has Cystic Fibrosis.
