DENT COUNTY, Mo. ( - A 55-year-old murder suspect said ‘How does that make you feel?’ to his victim after shooting him in Dent County, police said.

Fridtjov Severud, 55, is charged with first-degree murder.

Police say he called police to a home in the 800 block of County Road 4060 around 8:15 p.m. Thursday to report that his friend was shot.

The victim, Michael Gehm, 41, was on the phone with someone who later told police he heard Gehm and Severud talking.

The witness on the phone told police Gehm said to Severud, “If you’re going to point that thing at me, you better pull the trigger.” The witness then heard a gun shot, police say.

The witness told officers Severud then said “How does that make you feel?” to Gehm. Severud then saw the phone was on and told the witness to get help because Gehm had been shot. Police say Severud then hung up.

Severud admitted to officers that he shot Gehm while Gehm was sitting down, police say.

Officers said they searched the home where the shooting happened and found a .45 caliber pistol and a single spent cartridge case.

Severud is being held in the Dent County Jail on a $1 million bond.
