The Muny's updated security plans for the summer season are now effective as of Monday, June 11.
Bags, purses and backpacks will continue to be checked, but the staff will now also use metal detector wands as part of screening to enter the theater.
“We’re excited to welcome thousands of theater-goers to The Muny for our 100th season,” said Muny Marketing and Communications Director, Kwofe Coleman. “Relying on constant research and professional consultants, we continue to evolve our policies and procedures to make sure we are providing a safe environment without greatly affecting the open, enjoyable experience our guests love about The Muny.”
The Muny’s security perimeter has also expanded to two additional picnic lawns, The Culver Pavilion and Lichtenstein Plaza. Security checkpoints will open at 5:00 p.m. for the picnic areas, 6:00 p.m. for the plaza, 7:00 p.m. for free seats and 7:30 p.m. for paid seats.
