1 dead in crash involving motorcycle, car in North City

A 21-year-old man has died after being involved in a two-vehicle accident in St. Louis County Wednesday night.

On May 2, 2018, around 11:11 p.m. St. Louis County Police officers responded to the intersection of Midland Blvd. and Ashby Rd. for a call for a vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, officers located a two vehicle accident involving a Suzuki motorcycle and Chevrolet pick-up truck. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

After an investigation, the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Midland Blvd. The pick-up truck was attempting a turn onto Midland Blvd. from a business in the 10800 block of Midland Blvd, attempting to enter the eastbound traffic on Midland Blvd.

The motorcycle struck the driver’s side of the pick-up truck.

The motorcyclist, a 21-year-old man, was transported to a local hospital for treatment, but later died.

The driver of the pick-up truck, a 71-year-old man, did not report any injuries.

The man will be identified when he is positively identified and the next of kin has been notified.

An incident is under investigation by the St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons and Accident Reconstruction Unit.
