NORTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- An overnight crash in north St. Louis left one person dead.

The crash happened near Union Blvd and Sacramento around 4:45 a.m. Saturday. Police said a man riding a Yahama motorcycle was stopped at a red light at Union when he was rear-ended by a Chevrolet Impala. 

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities. 

The driver of the Impala sustained minor injuries and remained on scene until police arrived. 

A MetroBus operator witnessed the crash while driving her route and stayed at the crash scene to speak to detectives. The bus was not involved in the crash, according to a spokesperson from Bi-State Development. 

No additional information has been released.
