Route 364, better known as the Page Extension is now the busiest route between St. Charles County and St. Louis County. The number of drivers has more than doubled since the highway was completed a few years ago.
“Shortly after the Page Extension opened, we knew there were going to be traffic concerns and immediately started working with MoDOT to plan for more lanes,” says St. Charles County Executive Steve Ehlmann.
Now 78,000 drivers use the highway every day.
That’s why MoDOT is adding additional lanes around the Mid Rivers Mall Drive exit to ease congestion and bottlenecking.
Construction on the $1.2 million project will start in July and will involve: Route 364 Eastbound: An addition of a continuous third lane from the Route 94 on-ramp onto Route 364 Route 364 Westbound: An addition of a continuous fourth lane past the Harvestowne Industrial Drive/Central School Road/Kisker Road existing merge lane (Exit 9) to the Mid Rivers Mall Drive off-ramp (Exit 8B). Addition of a continuous third lane past the Mid Rivers Mall Drive existing merge lane (Exit 8B) to the Route 94 off-ramp (Exit 8A) MoDOT says traffic disruption will be minimal because they will work during off-peak hours and only during the weekdays.Copyright 2018 KMOV (Meredith Corporation).
