Metro security guards stop fight on train

(KMOV.com) -- Cell phone footage captured a MetroLink guard stopping a fight between multiple passengers on a train headed for downtown St. Louis.

The footage shows one guard holding back one passenger while two others fought near the doors. A second guard intervenes and tries to break it up.

Eventually, one of the guards and the passenger fall to the floor. The entire fight last for about a minute and a half.

A Metro spokesperson said it was “an unfortunate incident that ended fortunately because guards were on the train” because they were “doing what they were supposed to do.”

The same area of MetroLink made headlines in early November when a 23-year-old man was beaten and robbed of his cell phone by three men, just one stop from Delmar at Debaliviere.

Officials insist incidents like this are not frequent and they happen in every large city. During this incident, no one appeared to be seriously injured and no one was arrested.
