EAST ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- An early morning fire ripped through a recycling center in the Metro East Sunday.

Before 5 a.m., fire crews arrived to a pallet and recycling company near 18th Street and East Broadway in East St. Louis. News 4 crews confirmed part of the building collapsed. Thick plumes of black smoke could be seen filling the skyline as firefighter battle the massive flames. 

It is unclear if anyone was inside the building.
