ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Legendary rock band Foreigner is donating their biggest hit to help the children at Shriners Hospital for Children.

The band is re-recording their hit song, “I Want to Know What Love Is,” along with shooting a new video with a connection to both the Shriners Hospital and a teenage girl named Mia from Glen Carbon, Ill.

Mia says she has been a patient at the Shriners Hospital for 12 years. She was born with a curved spine.

She was 5 years old the day Kelly Hansen, the lead singer of Foreigner toured the Shriners Hospital where she was being treated. According to Mia, they hung out and played air hockey.

“Foreigner has raised $300,000 for our hospitals, has visited our hospitals a number of times and has really connected with our kids and our message,” said Tammy Robbins, Sr. Director of Public Relations and Communications Central Region.

The band has been a fan of Shriners Hospitals since 2008.
