A Maplewood pie shop is in a literal jam after a man vandalized their shop with their own ingredients Monday morning.

"The damage was minimal more dirty than broken," said Pie Oh My! owner Melennie Lorence.

Maplewood police said the suspect is 22-year-old Michael Brooker.

Police said they were called to Pie Oh My! on Sutton Boulevard at 5:40 a.m. Monday.

Brooker allegedly broke into the pie shop and appears to have spread jam and other ingredients all over the shop making a huge mess.

"I think he jammed in the door and he disrobed behind my counter," said Lorence.

The shop owner said Brooker took off his clothes inside the store, leaving some of them behind. Police said when they found him on the street Brooker was in his boxers.

Police said he’s charged with burglary second-degree and property damage second-degree. They said he was first taken to the hospital after the incident.

During this same time as the pie shop incident it also appears Brooker broke a window at Architectural Design Guild. It's located across the street, but police said he never got inside.

There was a red “X” left on a window, which many worried might be blood, but now they are hopeful it’s blackberry or blueberry jam.

"I'm hoping it's jam," said Maplewood Mayor and Architectural Design Guild owner Barry Greenberg.

Pie Oh My! is normally closed Monday and will now stay closed Tuesday to clean up and the shop owner plans to re-open Wednesday.
