The FBI honored a St. Louis businessman Monday who helped a local veteran and officers who became paralyzed.

Jim Shubert of Shubert Design Furniture has helped make the new normal for Chris Sanna, Craig Tudor and Mike Flamion more manageable. Police officers Flamion and Tudor became paralyzed in the line of duty. Sanna was paralyzed when he was robbed and shot while walking back to his car outside Busch Stadium.

Shubert convinced the Gary Sinese Foundation to not only help veterans who are severely wounded, but to also help first responders. Shubert is on the Board of Directors of the foundation. It has built a new home or modified the home of Sanna, Tudor and Flamion. Shubert provided interior design services free of charge.

The local FBI office also recognized Gary Sinese Foundation for its work. Shubert and Sinese will receive praise in person from FBI director James Comey in Washington D.C. in April.
