Police say they have taken a 27-year-old man into custody in connection with a triple shooting that happened in Spanish Lake and have identified the three the people who died.

The shooting happened on Lavida near Northdale.

Prosecutors said on Friday that Demetrius Davis, 27, of St. Louis County, is charged with three counts of first-degree murder and armed criminal action. He is accused of fatally shooting Timothy Solano, 20, of North County, Brandon Stephenson, 36, of Florissant and Melissa Tierney, 40, of South City.

Another victim, a 49-year-old woman, remains in a hospital.

St. Louis prosecutors said they don't have any information on what led to the shooting.

Lucy Yeargain said she was sleeping when her next door neighbor came knocking on her door in the middle of the night, bleeding and pleading for help.

She was pounding on my door for me to help her,” said Lucy Yeargain.“She was shot,” said Yeargain. “I helped her, let her in my house and took care of her by calling 911. That’s what I did.”

Yeargain told News 4 her neighbor, Yolanda Solano, was shot in the head.

Yeargain said Solano is a mother and moved to a Spanish Lake home on Northfield and Lavida with her family about five years ago.

When officers arrived, three bodies were found inside, two men and a woman were dead.

“It’s terrible to me, but it’s even worse for my sister because she lived with them,” said Armonn Versie.

Armonn Versie said he and his sister grew up with Solano’s children.

“It’s just like a bunch of anticipation and all of that until you find out what’s going on,” said Versie.

Yeargain’s also holding onto her optimism.

“I hope everything’s okay for her,” said Yeargain. “I hope she and her family are going to be alright. God’s with her, I know he is. He’s watching over them.”

Autopsies are being conducted on the three bodies found inside the Solano home Thursday afternoon.
