Man allegedly molests girl near Union Station MetroLink

Montez Haines is accused of molesting a teen girl near the Union Station MetroLink station

ST. LOUIS, Missouri (KMOV) – A 31-year-old man was arrested after allegedly leading a 14-year-old girl away from the Union Station MetroLink stop and molesting her.

Authorities said they went several blocks to an alley and that’s where Montez Haines allegedly molested the child between 6:35 p.m. and 6:50 p.m. on Saturday.

Officials said there was security at the stop last night, but Isaiah Clay, a resident in the area, said there needs to be more. “I was robbed at this MetroLink before so I know. There's a lot that goes on in St. Louis so nothing surprises me, but that's shocking,” said Clay.

Haines is facing charges including child molestation and enticement of a child.

MetroLink issued a statement saying: "One instance is too many. The safety and security of our customers is our top priority. We are working with the St. Louis police department on both cases." The second case is referring to a teen that was shot in the leg Sunday night.

This case is still under investigation.
