Man accused of sex crime was coach, firefighter and school board president

Charges of second-degree sexual misconduct and third-degree assault were recently filed against 56-year old Larry Zeitzmann. In court documents, he's accused of illegal, unwanted contact with a 14-year old girl.News 4 has learned Zeitzman served approximately 30 years with the Glendale Fire Department, retiring in 2015 as the fire chief. A spokesperson said there were no complaints filed against him during his time with the department.Zeitzman served as a volunteer coach for 11 years at Crosspoint Christian School in Villa Ridge. He also served on the school board from 2011-2016, serving part of that time as school board president.School administrator Don Coons said as soon as the allegations came to light, Zeitzmann resigned from the board and was no longer allowed to coach or have contact with students. Court documents claim Zeitzman grabbed the victim's buttocks, hugged her and kissed her on the cheek and attempted to kiss her on the lips. He's also alleged to have told the victim he loved her and would leave his wife for her. The documents claim these actions happened on school grounds and at sporting events and school events. In a civil petition filed by Zeitzmann in January, he acknowledged that a state investigation came to the conclusion that he sexually abused the victim, he was asking for a judge to review those findings. That case hasn't gone to court yet.Franklin County prosecutor Bob Parks said that he didn't believe this was an isolated case and that there may be other victims.
