The Major Case Squad of St. Louis is looking for the owner of a charred car after a badly burned body was found inside in Troy, Mo.

Troy Police officers were responding to a vehicle fire near 100 Frenchman’s Bluff Lane when they discovered the body in the driver’s seat of a maroon 1994 Honda Accord around 3:15 a.m. Saturday.

Police Chief Jeff Taylor requested the St. Louis Major Case Squad to assist with the 'suspicious death' investigation.

Joey Nichols of the Major Case Squad stated the cause of death is hard to determine whether it was an accidental death, suicide or homicide. The identity of the victim has not yet been identified.

Detectives say the registered owner of the vehicle is listed as Jonathon Krocak, 27, of Troy, Mo. Investigators are trying to locate Krocak or anyone who has been in contact with in within the last 72 hours.

We are seeking assistance in determining the whereabouts of Mr. Krocak and who might have had contact with him in the last 72 hours. The Major Case Squad has reached out to possible family members for DNA testing, but the results will not be ready until this coming week.

An autopsy has been conducted at 8 a.m. Sunday morning.
