That shooting happened Sunday, about ten blocks south of Fairground Park.

Johnson was found with a gunshot wound to his head.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unknown and no one was taken into custody.

James Clark, Vice President of Community Outreach for Better Family Life, says Johnson contacted the social service organization and wanted to get behind its "We Must Stop Killing Each Other" campaign.

"The rappers now have to look in the mirror and say, 'hey guys, we are losing too many loved ones and family members. We are losing our friends,'" said Clark.

Johnson is the second St. Louis-area rapper to be killed in the last few months. In September, Lavell Boyd, 32, was shot and killed in North St. Louis. Witnesses reported seeing Boyd’s vehicle stopped at the red light near Riverview and N. Broadway when two vehicles pulled alongside him and began firing shots at the victim’s vehicle.

Anyone with information about Johnson Jr.'s incident is urged to call Crimestoppers or the police.
