ALORTON (KMOV.com) - Someone called 911 saying Alorton Mayor Jo Ann Reed was impersonating an a police officer.

On Saturday, someone called 911, saying Reed was in a police car.

“A black four-door passenger car with a spotlight displayed on the side. Mayor Jo Ann Reed displayed on the side,” a dispatcher said during the call.

Reed was in a parade on Saturday. Alorton Trustee Elesia Golliday-Brown says Reed was in a car that police lights, saying Reed left them on after the parade.

“Her car has lights. She was in the parade, right in front of me. She was behind the very last fire truck,” said Golliday-Brown.

News 4 went to Alorton City Hall seeking a comment from Reed but she was not in.

Reed has a history of controversy. In May 2017, she was accused of trying to get the city to buy her a car and has also been accused of trying to buy votes.

Golliday-Brown says police are not investigating the mayor’s alleged actions.
