Judge orders Flamion shooting suspect to undergo mental exam

CLAYTON, MO. (KMOV.com) – The man accused of shooting Ballwin Officer Michael Flamion has been ordered to undergo a mental exam.

Antonio R. Taylor, 33, is scheduled to undergo the examination on April 25 at the Metropolitan St. Louis Psychiatric Center. Following the examination, the court will be given a report that will include an opinion of whether Taylor has a mental disease or defect, can understand court proceedings and if he should be held in court or jail if he is deemed mentally fit for trial.

Taylor was accused of shooting Officer Flamion in the neck during a traffic stop on July 8, 2016. The shooting left the 34-year-old officer paralyzed from the neck down.
