(Meredith) – A driver in Kentucky apparently tried to run over a giant snowman but hit the tree stump underneath it instead.

"Instant karma!" Cody Lutz told WXIX-TV.

Lutz, his fiancée and his soon-to-be sister-in-law built the snowman over the weekend in Petersburg. They decided to use a tree stump as the base to support the 9-foot snowman, which they named Frosty.

Lutz said after returning home from work Monday, he noticed tire tracks leading up to the base of the snowman, which led him to believe someone tried to destroy Frosty.

Some of the bark was also exposed “with a snowy imprint of a bumper stuck to it,” Lutz told KCCI.

Despite the close call, Lutz and his family are still in good spirits. They also have a message for the would-be vandals:

"You reap what you sow! Still standing, and still smiling, Frosty certainly had the last laugh!,” Lutz said.
