HILLSBORO, Mo. (KMOV.com) – An inmate was found dead at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Jail Wednesday morning.

Felicia Marler, 38, of De Soto, was found unresponsive in her bed when corrections staff attempted to move her for transfer to St. Louis County, where she reportedly had outstanding warrants. Officers attempted CPR and notified Emergency Medical Services but were unsuccessful.

Detectives and Crime Scene Units were notified and immediately dispatched to investigate.

Officials said there were no signs of foul play or violence. They also said there was no mention of any medical issues or health concerns by Marler when she entered the facility.

“Our thoughts and prayers go to the family and friends that were close to Felicia,” Sheriff Dave Marshak said.

Marler was in the jail after being arrested on Oct. 10 during a traffic stop. She was taken to the jail for numerous warrants for several different agencies, according to officials.
