Administrators at Francis Howell North High School have informed parents that threats of a shooting at an upcoming assembly aren’t credible.
The school sent an email to parents and staff about the rumors. According to the email, rumors have been going around that a shooting would occur Friday during the school’s Veteran’s Day Assembly.
The school says it takes all threats seriously and worked with St. Peters police to investigate. After the investigation, the school said in the email that the threat isn’t credible.
The email to parents also said the school will err on the side of caution when comes school safety.
The email also says it wants parents to speak to their children about the consequences of spreading rumors meant to hurt people.
