Guerrilla Street Food will open a new location in the Delmar Loop this week.

Owners Brian Hardesty and Joel Crespo said the Loop was always a goal for their fast-casual Filipino restaurant.

The two started their food truck in 2011. They opened the brick-and-mortar restaurant on South Grand and opened a spot inside 2nd Shift Brewery.

But when Crespo said they walked past the empty store front on Delmar, they knew this was the next spot in their growing business.

“It was serendipitous,” Crespo said.

With the Pageant and Delmar Hall across the street plus the Washington University Campus so close they feel they have a built-in base. Plus, their opening is happening right as the Loop Trolley is set to open.

Several restaurants closed in the Loop over the last few years, some blamed ongoing construction of the Trolley.

But Crespo said they’re excited for the Trolley to open and to show visitors and locals Guerilla Street Food.

There are several of the favorites from the food truck and Grand location, but the Loop location will have several new items and will be open seven days a week.

The restaurant at 6120 Delmar opens Tuesday March 13.
