A former Troy police officer was sentenced to 5 years in prison on second-degree Statutory Rape charges.

Marc R. Dody was sentenced Tuesday to the Missouri Department of Corrections after he is released he will be required to register as a sexual offender for life.

Marc Dody, 39, resigned back in July.

According to investigators. Dody met the 15-year-old girl at her job at Imo's Pizza in Troy and then starting talking to her through Facebook.

He admitted to having sex with her on three to four occasions, including at a park in Troy, at a commuter lot in Wentzille and at his home.

At one point, he admitted he knew her age.

The victim's family says they can't believe a police officer would do this.

“That's what aggravates me the most. Because they use that as their leeway to worm their way in," said a family member.

"They’ve gone through the training, they arrest people and yet they're doing it, and they're getting away with it, it's just not right, it's not right,” said the family member.

Dody will likely be charged in two other counties as well. The Troy department immediately suspended Dody after learning of these allegations months ago.
