Ferguson Councilman Wesley Bell announced Tuesday he will file as a candidate for St. Louis County Prosecutor.
Bell will be running up against the current St. Louis County Prosecutor Bob McCulloch.
Bell was elected by Ferguson voters in April 2015 and worked directly with the Department of Justice focusing on community policing and court reform to the City of Ferguson.
“Community Prosecution is the next crucial step to reduce crime,” says Bell. “That’s why I’m running for St. Louis County Prosecutor, for a safer St. Louis.”
Bell has 20 years of experience in the criminal justice field, he was a former judge and public defender, and currently serves as a municipal court prosecutor.
