ST. LOUIS ( – The crowd in Section 103 at Busch Stadium during Monday’s Cardinals game helped a wedding dream come true for one lucky couple.

Alyssa and Tyson Baker brought a sign to the stadium that read: “7 years together. If there is an ordained minister, we are ready to marry right here! #ForeverCardinalsTogether We are in Section 103 Row 7.”

The couple raised the sign during every break in hopes of finding a minister to marry them during the game.

“By the 3rd inning, a minister appeared and began to talk with them. They exchanged license information and determined that all was in place for a legal and binding wedding,” read a portion of a Facebook post made by Donna Shores O’Day, who was seated next to the couple.

O’Day said the couple asked her and a friend to be bridesmaids during the wedding in the middle of the sixth inning.

“They teared up, the minister teared up, we all teared up. And they say there’s no crying in baseball. The crowd went wild and we began our celebration of not only the wedding, but of being part of an act of faith, love, and kindness that took us by surprise but will surely stay with us always. Many of us left the game as new, but hopefully forever friends. Oh, and the Cardinals won,” O’Day wrote on Facebook.

As for why the couple chose the stadium, Tyson said when he proposed he told Alyssa, “In a stadium full of people I would only have eyes for you.”
