FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. (KMOV.com) – A Fariview Heights man is accused of stealing debit/credit cards and using them at various convenience stores in the Metro East.
According to police, three vehicles were burglarized during the month of January in Fairview Heights. The burglaries occurred on Peachtree Lane, Jennifer Drive and Chateau Drive. During each burglary, wallets and debit/credit cards were reportedly taken.
The stolen cards were then used at convenience stores in Fairview Heights, Cahokia, Sauget and East St. Louis.
Jaylon J. Lewis was reportedly seen on video surveillance and ultimately charged with the crimes, police said. The 22-year-old faces three counts of burglary and three counts of unlawful use of accredit/debit cards. He is currently being held on an $80,000 bond.
