(Meredith) - A 7-Eleven employee, who is also a cowboy, fought off an armed robbery suspect and tied him up with a rope, according to authorities in Texas.

Police responded to a call about an armed robbery at the 7-Eleven in Dallas around 11 p.m. Tuesday, WFAA reported.

The suspect allegedly tried to stab the store clerk with a screwdriver, but the employee fought back. He grabbed a rope, tied up the suspect and restrained him until officers arrived, according to WFAA.

Responding officers said the rope was wrapped around the suspect so tightly, they had to use a knife to cut him loose.

The clerk suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
