A pair of suspects have been charged in their connection with the armed robbery and carjacking of a Missouri State Senator last month.

Tavion Regans and Maurice Green have both been charged with First Degree Armed Criminal Action and First Degree Robbery.

Regans, 20, was already in police custody before the warrants for the charges were issued. Police said he was in custody related to a carjacking on Christmas Day.

Regans and Green are both suspects in an armed robbery case and carjacking case last month. The victim of that case is Missouri State Senator Bruce Franks.

Police said Franks was talking on his cell phone while sitting in his car on the parking lot of the Schlafly Tap Room on Locust when two suspects approached his driver’s side door around 7:25 p.m. One of the suspects pointed a gun at Franks, at which time he exited his car and ran inside the Schlafly Tap Room.

Both men are being held on an $80,000 cash-only bond.

The charges were officially filed on Jan. 8.
