(Meredith) -- A Denver family's home was destroyed after a car plowed into it.

Camilla Johnson and her young son had just left their home when a car crashed into their living room, right where her son had been playing just a few hours earlier.

"Thank God we left," Johnson told KCNC. "We could have been in there. I would have lost my son."

The crash was caught on her home surveillance cameras. A nearby neighbor who witnessed the accident quickly called 911.

It's unclear what caused the driver to crash into the home, but first responders were able to take them to a local hospital for treatment.

Johnson's home has been declared uninhabitable. But she and her son are safe and are living with relatives.
