A unique summer camp in west St. Louis County allows children fighting for their lives a chance to just feel like a kid.

Camp Rainbow is a week-long camp for kids who have cancer or blood-related illness. From campers to the counselors, most everyone has been through or is going through quite a battle.

Campers do exactly what kids do at summer camp, fishing, archery, arts and crafts.

It has been a refreshing escape from reality for campers for more than 30 years.

Every summer, organizers go all out to make the kids feel extra special and help them forget for a few days that they are fighting a potentially deadly disease.

Each camper has their own counselor so they can take breaks as needed while enjoying as many activities as they can.

Camp Rainbow runs five camps every summer, from an overnight camp to a family camp. Everything is funded through grants and donations.
