Blues fan Arianna Dougan passed away Saturday morning after a long courageous battle with neuro-blastoma.

According to the official NHL website, the team received the news Tuesday night during Vladimir Tarasenko’s game-tying goal in the second period of Blues vs. Devils.

The team was alerted of a Facebook post by Arianna’s mother that Arianna was rapidly losing lung function.

Eleven-year-old Arianna passed away peacefully Saturday morning after battling cancer for more than eight years.

Arianna joined the St. Louis Blues during a road trip in March. Blues fans were able to purchase “Fight Like Arianna and Always with a Smile” bracelets during a fundraiser that raised money for kids at Children’s Neuro-Blastoma Cancer Foundation.

Since Ari’s trip, the Blues have committed to bring a child in need of a road trip along with them every year.
