Police say an 18-year-old man was playing with a gun inside a car when it accidentally went off, killing a front seat passenger in North County.

According to investigators, Ronnie Williams, 18, was in the back seat of a car in the 4700 block of Bristol Rock in Black Jack when he started playing with a gun. Williams told investigators that the gun went off, striking a 17-year-old victim that was sitting in the front passenger seat.

The victim, later identified as Lorenzo Moore-Vaughn, was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

Prosecutors charged Williams with one count of first-degree involuntary manslaughter.

William is being held on a $25,000 cash-only bond.

The investigation is ongoing.
