ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Fired St. Louis officer Jason Stockley's attorney is now calling for St. Louis City Prosecutor Kim Gardner's resignation.

Stockley's attorney, Dan Finney, already filed a lawsuit against the previous circuit attorney Jennifer Joyce. Gardner was part of Stockley's prosecution.

Finney is also asking for monetary compensation.

"I would say there were five or six big lies. All of which were announced to the public, none of which were retracted when they fell away from the case. Some of which they continued to say throughout the case even though there was no evidence,” he said. “I want Kim Gardner to resign. That sounds outrageous, but when you think about it, she had her people lie and tried to put someone in jail for the rest of their life.”

Finney tells News 4 Stockley is also asking prosecutors to issue both him and the city an apology for the damage their case caused.

News 4 has reached out to the Circuit Attorney’s Office but has not heard back.
