LEWISTOWN, Mo. (KMOV.com) - An Arnold man has died after a friend and fellow deer hunter shot him in northeastern Missouri.

Officers arrived at the 19000 block of State Highway Y in Lewistown, Mo. Friday around 4:20 a.m.

There, they found 52-year-old Randell Reising from Arnold, Mo. inside the hunting cabin dead with a gunshot wound to the chest. 

After investigating, police discovered Reising woke up at 4:00 a.m. to get ready for the morning hunt when he was accidentally shot by one of his friends.

The investigation is ongoing.
