JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- A new rule in Jefferson County is set to target the usage of remote controlled devices, like drones, in the county’s parks.

The new rule would disallow users to fly devices within 100 feet of people or park structures.

According to the parks department, it’s prompted by recent incidents, including one where a drone hit power lines.

The rule change could be in effect as soon as next Tuesday.
