Nick was born and raised in Kansas City, KS. His journalism career began in college when he started reporting on education, city matters and high school sports for The Kansas City Kansan newspaper. He took over the paper's online version in 2008 and grew it to over one million readers in 2014. He has been in TV news since 2015, serving as an assignment editor, digital producer and managing live opps at KCTV5 News. He attended Sumner Academy in KCK and Washburn University.
